Hop in the car, crank the tunes and roll the windows down…
Take a chill drive into Bayahibe, in the Dominican Republic, to enjoy a peaceful lunch or dinner right on the water of ‘Playa Bayahibe’.
My favourite spot to bring family and friends in this quant island town?
“Playa Barco Bar” – roughly a 45 minute drive from the Punta Cana Airport.
The service at this cute beach bar is always superb. With excellent food, and drinks. The venue is wheelchair accessible, and also has complimentary wifi access.

They have vegetarian friendly meals, as well as vegan and gluten free options.
This mellow beach bar is known for their Italian cuisine, and they also serve some of the best seafood options I have tried in the area. (The seafood is on the pricey side, but totally worth it!)
Get ready for some MAJOR food porn…
They have been feeding bellies and satisfying tastebuds since 1872!
The restaurant is located on an almost vendor free beach – super quiet, and calm.
When I visit, I typically spend a full day here on this beach! They have the yummiest Mojito’s!
Here, you will experience some of the most authentic island vibes – watching local fishing boats and catamarans going by, local children and dogs playing in the GORGEOUS, calm, caribbean waters and if you are blessed with perfect skies, you will witness a breathtaking sunset! 😍
